ITLOS: the “Enrica Lexie” Incident (Italy v. India)

The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea has been requested by Italy to prescribe provisional measures under article 290, paragraph 5, of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea in a dispute with the Republic of India over the incident involving the MV Enrica Lexie, an oil tanker flying the Italian flag. By Order dated 24 July 2015, the President of the Tribunal, Judge Vladimir Golitsyn, fixed 10 August 2015 as the date for the opening of the public hearing in the case.
